What is the status of my credit card?

If you have applied for a credit card through our website, you can track the status by clicking on "Track Application Status"

You will then be asked to enter information such as your application Id, Mobile number, PAN and Date of Birth. If these details match with what we have in our records, you will be able to see the status of your credit card application.

If you have applied for a credit card through the branch or any other channels, you can check the status of the application by calling our Customer Care.

Are there any charges for redemption of reward points?

With effect from June 12, 2014, Redemption Fee as handling charges has been introduced on every redemption request for reward points earned on your ICICI Bank Credit Card.

  1. For Credit Card members on Hand-picked Rewards Scheme and ICICI Bank Rewards Scheme, a Redemption Facilitation Fee of Rs.99.00 with Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be levied for every redemption request.
  2. For Credit Card members on PAYBACK Rewards Scheme:

For Catalogue based redemption on PAYBACK Rewards Scheme, a Redemption Facilitation Fee of Rs.99.00 with Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be levied on each redemption.

For Online and in-store redemption on PAYBACK Rewards Scheme, a Redemption Facilitation Fee of Rs.25.00 with Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be levied on each redemption on PAYBACK Partner Brands like www.bookmyshow.com and www.makemytrip.com and in-store partners like Big Bazaar and HPCL.

This Redemption Fee with Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be charged to your monthly Credit Card statement.

My credit card is going to expire. When will I receive the renewal card?

You can place a request for replacement of your credit card by following ways.

You will receive the renewal card 10 days before the expiry of your old card. The old card will be valid till last day of the month mentioned on credit card.

If you do not receive the card You may place a request for non receipt of renewal Credit Card through the below mentioned channels.

How do I use my credit card?

To use your credit card at merchant outlet, please follow the following instructions:

  1. The merchant will dip your card at a PIN enabled POS terminal
  2. The merchant will enter the amount to be paid by you
  3. The POS terminal will prompt for the PIN
  4. Enter your 4 digit Credit Card PIN on the POS terminal. Pull out the card once the transaction is complete

To use your credit card for online transaction, please follow the following instructions:

  1. Make sure you are using a secure site while making payments through the Internet. Look for a lock icon in the status bar of your web browser. This icon indicates that a site is employing an encryption technology during the transmission of your sensitive data.
  2. Never respond to phishing e-mails that falsely claim to be from a bank and ask you to disclose your personal and bank related confidential details. ICICI Bank will never ask you to send your personal banking details.
  3. Get yourself enrolled for 3D Secure (Verified by Visa (VbV)/ MasterCard SecureCode (MCSC)). This is now mandatory for carrying out online transactions.
  4. Avoid accessing your Internet banking account on unsecured public computers (e.g. internet cafes).
  5. Once you have completed your online banking transactions, remember to log-off by clicking on the "log-off" option. Close your browser and lock your computer if it is left idle.

Can I make the payment of amount due on card deducting the refund received from merchant?

The refund received from merchant is not considered as payments. Hence, request you to make the complete payment as per the statement and within due date.

The refund received will be adjusted with further transactions made on credit card.

Can I use my credit card for international transactions?

All the credit cards issued by ICICI Bank are active for international transactions. Why has my credit card application been rejected?

The application for a new credit card is evaluated on a combination of parameters such as income, credit history, payment track record of other loans and credit cards (if any), etc.

Alternatively, you can visit the nearest ICICI Bank Branch and apply for an Insta Credit Card which is issued to you against opening a Fixed Deposit. The card will be handed over to you instantly, over the counter.

Regular usage and timely payment on this card will help you maintain a good credit track record and you also earn safe returns at competitive interest rates on your Fixed Deposit.

I want to convert a transaction into EMI. What are the EMI tenure options available?

All retail Credit Card transactions of Rs 1500.00 and above can be converted into EMI within 30 days from purchase date, for a tenure of 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 & 24 EMIs. However, cash, jewellery and fuel purchase transactions are excluded from EMI conversion.

Want to know why interest charges are levied on my credit card?

Interest will be charged if the Total Amount Due is not paid by the payment due date. Interest will be charged on the Total Amount Due and on all new transactions (from the transaction date) till such time as the previous outstanding amounts are paid in full. Also, interest will be levied on all cash advances from the date of the transaction until the date of payment.

I came across a transaction on my account using a debit card which was not attempted by me? How do I report this transaction?

Existing fixed deposit can be accepted as “guarantee” for issuing ICICI Bank Insta Credit Card. Original Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) should be submitted to branch along with application form.

Will I need a phone with Internet / GPRS connection on it?

No, there is no such requirement

Do I need to be using a specific Mobile handset to avail this service?

There is no specific handset requirement for using the Movida service. You do not require any GPRS / internet / data connectivity on your phone. You need not download any application to get started.

We will be unable to change the status in CIBIL as NORMAL for the settled credit card accounts.

You need to pay the entire waiver amount in a single instalment (payment). By doing this, the status in your CIBIL records will be changed from ‘Settled’ to 'Normal'.

Can I receive the ATM PIN through SMS facility?

Yes, the ATM PIN through SMS facility is available on your ICICI Bank Credit Card. The PIN is sent on your registered mobile number

What are credit card Usage Guidelines?

Using your ICICI Bank Credit Card is extremely simple. After making your purchase or availing of the service provided by the Merchant Establishment, present your ICICI Bank Credit Card.

Upon processing your Card transaction, the Merchant will request you to sign a charge slip (refer to the image alongside). This contains details about the amount to be billed to your ICICI Bank Credit Card. Please check and confirm that all details have been correctly filled in.

Should you wish to leave a tip or miscellaneous charge, you can do so by filling in the same on the charge slip. After filling in this section, in the interest of your own safety, we recommend that you write out the total amount in the charge slip before signing.

Please ensure that you sign on the charge slip in the same way you have signed on the reverse of the Card.

The Merchant Establishment will return the copy of the bill(s) and the charge slip along with your Card. Please match the amounts before leaving the establishment.

It is recommended to retain your copy of the charge slip and the corresponding bill till such time as the amount is reflected in you Card billing statement.

Please note: Jewellery and Electronics charges are approved selectively in the first six months of membership. For any assistance, please call the ICICI Bank 24-Hour Customer Care Centre.

What is a Chip and PIN Credit Card?

ICICI Bank Chip Credit Cards come with an embedded micro chip which provides additional security against counterfeiting / duplication of the card. It also provides an extra layer of security in the form of a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You will be required to enter your 4-digit PIN on the terminal for transactions at merchant outlets.

Can I use this PIN for cash withdrawals?

Yes, you can use the same PIN for cash withdrawals through ATMs. Please note that terms of the Cash Withdrawal facility will be as communicated at the time of delivery of your card. For more information on the same, please contact our Customer Care.

What type of Fixed Deposits are allowed for Insta Credit Card offer?

Both Traditional and Cumulative mode are allowed for ICICI Bank Insta credit cards. Also there should be no existing lien marked or partial withdrawal on the Fixed Deposit.

Why is the ICICI Bank Insta Credit Card not given to the secondary Fixed Deposit holder?

Because the KYC is done only for the primary Fixed Deposit holder, only he/she is eligible for the Credit Card.

What happens if the I miss the IVR Pin Entry call back?

You will need to initiate the transaction again by calling back the IVR number because Movida will terminate the session for security reasons.

Can I close the credit card and have the fixed deposit account active?

You may cancel only the credit card account and can have the FD account active. For cancellation of credit card, complete amount due on card needs to be paid off.

Can I withdraw partial fixed deposit amount?

You will be unable to withdraw partial fixed deposit amount, as the complete fixed deposit is marked with lien against credit card.

What is the validity period of credit card

The credit card is valid for 4 years from the card issue date. The credit card will be automatically renewed and sent at your mailing address 10 days prior to the card expiry date.

Expiry date of the card will be mentioned on the front side of Credit card.

Credit Card can be sent only to the mailing address updated in the records. In your absence, you can leave an authorisation letter with your family members along with a valid ID proof to accept the delivery.

How can I make a payment in my credit card loan account?

  1. If PLCC account is different from credit card account, then credit card loan account payment should be made separately on loan account number. It cannot be clubbed with credit card payment.
  2.  If PLCC account number is same as credit card number, then the EMI will be billed in same statement.

What are the conditions of Auto Debit?

If the Auto Debit is active for minimum amount due and you have made a payment which is less than minimum amount, then the Auto Debit will take place only for the balance of the minimum amount due on the payment due date. The Auto Debit will not take place if the payment for minimum amount due is received 5 days before the payment due date.

If the auto-debit is active for total amount due and if we have received a part-payment towards the total amount due of a particular statement, the Auto Debit will take place only for the balance of the total amount due on the payment due date. The Auto Debit will not take place if the payment for the total amount due is made 5 days before the payment due date.

Do ICICI Bank Rewards expire?

The ICICI Bank reward points will expire in 36 months from the date of earn.

Can I pay my credit card bill through an ATM?

Yes, you can make a payment through an ATM only if the credit card is registered as a Biller under Bill Pay section on ICICI Bank website and the maximum amount which can be transferred in a day is Rs. 50,000.

What if I cross credit limit on my credit card?

If you make a transaction that exceeds your available credit limit, ICICI Bank will use its discretion and decide whether or not to approve the transaction. If the transaction is approved, an over-limit charge would be levied to the card account. The over-limit charge is 2.5% of the amount by which the credit limit is exceeded (subject to a minimum charge of Rs.500).

The bearer of the letter can take the delivery of the card by producing the authorisation letter given by card holder along with an Identity Proof to the courier representative, at the mailing address. Otherwise, the card will be returned to us.

How can I avail benefit of Credit free period?

For example: If the statement generation date is 14th of every month, all purchases done before 14th will be billed in that particular month's statement. On the same token, a purchase done on 15 th of that month will be billed in the next month's statement(14th of next month) and thereby you get 18 days to make payment. Here you get 48 credit free days.

In summary, any transaction that is done when your monthly statement date is nearing, you will have lesser number of credit free days. We request you to plan your purchases to avail 48 days of credit free period.

The credit free period without interest will be valid only if we receive total amount outstanding of the statement.

What are the minimum points required for redeeming?

An Account number is generated at the time of issuing your credit card. In due course of time, you may have received an upgraded card or a renewal card, however the account number of the cards remains the same. 

The credit card statements are generated with your ICICI Bank Credit Card Account number. The charges will be debited on your credit card account number however transactions will reflect on the credit card number.

OTP for online transactions is valid for 15 minutes only. In case it exceeds more than 15 minutes, please re-attempt the transaction.

Will the limit of Add-on card be over and above the limit of the primary card?

No, the Add-on card holder needs to use the same limit allotted to Primary Card.

Will autodebit get activated on my credit card automatically if I link my Savings account to my credit card?

No, it will not get automatically activated on linking. You have to follow the Auto Debit registration process. Linking will help to view both savings account and credit cards details together.

Will I be asked for my Credit Card PIN at every POS terminal, be it domestic or international?

For all transactions in India you will be asked for a PIN. However, outside India, you will be asked for the PIN only if the POS terminal is enabled for PIN authentication. You need to enter your Credit Card PIN and complete the transaction.

How should I ensure safety of my card?

  • Keep the card in a safe place like your wallet or purse, where you can quickly notice if it is missing. Many times it is too late by the time cardholders come to know that the card is missing.
     
  • Note the contact numbers of your bank where it is readily available. Make a diary note of your card numbers for any time reference.
  • Ensure that the card you got back after a transaction is indeed yours, before putting it in the wallet. Many times, cards get exchanged at crowded merchant locations like service stations and malls or super markets.
  • When you use your card for purchases, ensure it is swiped in your presence and not swiped on multiple devices.
  • Ensure that your card number, card-expiry date and the three-digit security code on the back of the card (popularly known as CVV number) are not captured in writing anywhere. This can be done if you ensure the card is swiped in front of you at all times.
  • Do not hand-over your card to anyone, even if they claim to be representatives from your Bank.
  • If the card is to be cancelled, cut it in four pieces diagonally across the magnetic stripe and discard. This will ensure that the cancelled or expired card cannot be misused for counterfeit / skimming.
  • Do not use a replacement card before the Primary card is blocked.
  • Don't expose the card to excessive heat or keep close to a magnetic field.

What should I keep in mind while visiting High Risk countries?

  • Get your card replaced if you have used your card in a high-risk country. 'High-risk' countries have a track record of large number of fraudulent activities.

What should I keep in mind while doing online transactions?

  • Make sure you are using a secure site while making payments through the Internet. Look for a lock icon in the status bar of your web browser. This icon indicates that a site is employing an encryption technology during the transmission of your sensitive data.
     
  • Never respond to phishing e-mails that falsely claim to be from a bank and ask you to disclose your personal and bank related confidential details. ICICI Bank will never ask you to send your personal banking details.
  • Get yourself enrolled for 3D Secure (Verified by Visa (VbV)/ MasterCard SecureCode (MCSC)). This is now mandatory for carrying out online transactions.
  • Avoid accessing your Internet banking account on unsecured public computers (e.g. internet cafes).
  • Once you have completed your online banking transactions, remember to log-off by clicking on the "log-off" option. Close your browser and lock your computer if it is left idle.

What should I do when I receive my Credit Card?

As soon as you receive the consignment carrying your card, ensure that the card in the envelope has your name, and that it is spelt accurately. If there is any not-error, inform Customer Care immediately.

Are there any interest charges on my credit card ?

If you make a payment for the Total Amount Due before the Payment Due Date, no interest charges are applicable. Thus you can enjoy interest-free credit from the date of purchase to the date on which the payment is due. Interest-free period could range from 18 to 48 days.

Interest will be charged if you do not pay back the Total Amount Due of the previous month statement by the payment due date. Interest will be charged on the Total Amount Due and on all new transactions till such time as the previous outstanding amounts are paid in full. Also, interest will be levied on all cash advances from the date of the transaction until the date of settlement.

What is Miles Split Ratio Module (MSRM)?

Miles Split Ratio Module means the ratio offered by ICICI Bank in which the InterMiles earned on Qualifying Expenses are split between the Business and JetPrivilege member (company and employee). The available MSRMs are 75:25, 50:50 or 25:75, the company chooses an MSRM out of these options. For example, MSRM 75:25 specifies InterMiles split into 75% to the cardholder and 25% to the company. If your company has opted for this MSRM and you earn 1,000 InterMiles on Qualifying Expenses, 750 InterMiles will be credited into your JetPrivilege account and 250 InterMiles will be credited into your Company’s Business Rewards+ Account.
