Block Credit Card Terms and Conditions
ICICI Bank emphasises the importance of immediate reporting to limit your liability for unauthorised transactions. One of the fundamental rules in case of a lost or stolen Credit Card is to report it promptly.
Here are some points to remember in case you want to block your Credit Card:
- Blocking process
Once reported, the bank will initiate the process to block or hotlist your Credit Card. It means the Card cannot be used for any further transactions. Blocking is a security measure to prevent any misuse.
- Zero liability
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, customers have zero liability in case of unauthorised electronic banking transactions if reported within a specific time frame. Banks are responsible for ensuring the security of such transactions.
- Replacement Card
Once your Card is blocked, banks generally initiate issuing a replacement Card. Ensure you provide accurate and up-to-date contact information to receive the new Card without delay.
- Monitoring transactions
Regularly monitor your Credit Card transactions to identify any unauthorised activity. It is a recommended practice to enhance your financial security.
- Customer support
ICICI Bank provides customer support to assist you in the event of Card loss or theft. Be aware of the helpline number to inform the Bank immediately.
