Terms and Conditions

This forms the contract between the Customer and ICICI Bank for availing this Facility. By availing the Facility, the Customer acknowledges and accepts these terms.

 

The train you’ve booked has some rules you should know about:

Fare Rules

Fare breakup includes below mentioned components:

  • Base fare: This is simply the base fare of the train ticket. Children and senior women are charged 50% of the adult base fare. Senior men are charged 70% of the base fare.
  • Railway charges: These are Reservation Charges, Superfast Charges, Other Charges, Tatkal Charges (if any) and GST.
  • IRCTC Charges: No charges
  • ICICI Bank fee: We charge a service fee of Rs. 20 for Non–AC classes and Rs. 40 for AC classes, for bringing to you a fast and friendly interface to search and book tickets.
  • Payment Gateway (PG) fee: Transaction fee is 1.8% of the total of the above components. Payment gateways charge us this amount for processing your transaction. IRCTC charges a similar transaction fee, if you choose to book through them.

 

According to new cancellation rules, cancellation charges are mentioned below:

 

Revised (w.e.f 12.11.2015)

 

Levy of clerkage per passenger for cancellation of unreserved, RAC and waitlisted tickets:

  1. Unreserved (second class): Rs.30
  2. Second class (reserved) and other classes :Rs : 60


Cancellation charge per passenger o¬n confirmed(reserved) tickets:

  1. 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train minimum cancellation charge.
    1st AC/executive class: Rs 240
    2AC/1st class: Rs.200
    3AC/ACC/3A economy: Rs.180
    Second sleeper class: Rs.120
    Second class: Rs.60
  2. Between 48 hours and 12 hours before the scheduled departure of the train @25% subject to minimum charge as per (1) above.
  3. Between 12 hours and 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train @ 50% subject to minimum charge as per (1) above.
  4. No refund after the above prescribed time limit.


Partially confirmed:

 

Upto  half an  hour before  the  scheduled  departure of the train.

 

Refund on unused RAC/WL tickets:

Upto half an hour before the scheduled departure of the train subject to deduction in clerkage charge. 

No refund after the above prescribed time limit.

 

In case of cancellation of trains  for e-tickets: 

W.e.f 01.07.2015, automatic refund is granted. Filing of TDR is not required. No change for counter PRS ticket.

Boarding

  • Passengers with a confirmed e–ticket are permitted to board the train. Their names will appear on the chart.
  • Names of passengers with Partially Waitlisted/Confirmed/RAC PNRs will appear on the chart (including the Waitlisted passengers). Only the passengers with Confirmed/RAC status are allowed to board the train. W/L passengers are NOT allowed to board the train.
  • PNRs with a fully waitlisted status will be dropped and names of the passengers will not appear on the chart. They are not allowed to board the train. If fully waitlisted passengers are found travelling, they’ll be treated as without–ticket and charged as per extant Railway rules.
  • On demand by the ticket–checking staff, the passenger should produce the identity proof provided at the time of booking along with the electronic reservation slip (e–ticket) printout. In case the passenger does not carry the e–ticket, a charge Rs.50/– per ticket shall be recovered by the ticket checking staff and an excess fare ticket will be issued in lieu of it.

Amendments

  • Amendments are not supported by ICICI Bank.
  • Amendments can be made by approaching the nearest railway reservation counter with your e–ticket printout and the photo identity proof mentioned in the e–ticket
  • Only change in boarding station and passenger name (except master passenger) is permitted. Please visit http://irctc.co.in/Eticket_new_cancel.html for more information
  • Amendments are allowed till 24 hours before the scheduled departure of train.
  • Amendment can be made only once per ticket.

Cancellation Policy

  • Service fee and processing fee levied by ICICI Bank are non–refundable
  • Every booking made on ICICI Bank is subject to cancellation charges levied by the Railways, which may vary depending on the time of cancellation and the booking quota (general/tatkal). Please visit http://www.indianrail.gov.in/refund_Rules.html for refund rules.
  • Online cancellations: Cancellations can be made online by signing on ICICI Bank. Step by step details for online cancellations are available here.
  • The e–tickets can be cancelled using your ICICI Bank user account before the chart preparation. The chart is normally prepared 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, from the train–originating station. For trains starting up to 12 noon, the chart is normally prepared on the previous night.
  • Fully waitlisted e–tickets will be cancelled by Railways after chart preparation and the refund shall be automatically credited to ICICI Bank account.
  • After chart preparation, refunds for partially waitlisted/confirmed/RAC e–ticket will be processed on a receipt of mail from customer at service.irctc@icicibank.com.  It would then be processed offline and refund sanctioned by Railways would be credited back to ICICI Bank.
  • To claim your refunds for offline cancellations, please contact ICICI Bank customer support by writing an email with your PNR and trip details to service.irctc@icicibank.com

Refunds

  • Processing times for cancellation and refund requests vary.
  • PG fee is non-refundable in case of cancellation by IRCTC or by the passenger.
  • For fast processing of refunds, we strongly urge you to cancel online through ICICI Bank 12 hours prior to the departure of the train. Please read http://www.indianrail.gov.in/refund_Rules.html
  • It may take 7 -10 working days to process your refund if the ticket is cancelled online through ICICI Bank depending refund process by IRCTC through Railways.
  • For cancellations done after the chart preparation (offline cancellations), you need to write an e–mail to etickets@irctc.co.in. It would then be processed offline and refund sanctioned by Railways would be credited back to ICICI Bank.

  • IRCTC usually takes around 60 days to process the refunds for offline cancellations.
