How does a Companion Card work?
ICICI Bank Companion Card can be reloaded instantly using iMobile Pay app. The card can then be used for payments at POS terminals, ecommerce transaction as well as withdraw cash from ATM.

Customers can log in to their account using their user ID and password and manage their Companion Cards digitally. They can instantly reload their cards, reset PIN, control transactions, set limit for transactions, and much more.

Companion Card comes in two variants.

In case you lose your Companion Card, all you need to do is call our Customer Care to block the card. Once a positive verification is made, the lost card will be blocked and a new card request will be initiated.

Not only that Companion Card is secured with EMV chip & PIN technology, to enhance security, customers can also enable or disable POS/ECOM/ATM at the click of a button. Customers can also set limits for their transactions in POS/ECOM/ATM.

What is ICICI Bank Companion Card?

The ICICI Bank Companion Card is a EMV chip & PIN technology based pre-paid card, which can be loaded in rupees. The card does not have any minimum balance requirement and it offers you the flexibility of using it at all the VISA ATMs and merchant outlets in India, as well as for making ecommerce(online) transactions.

Where can ICICI Bank Companion Card be used?

The Companion Card can be used at any VISA-enabled points of sale(POS) terminal or ATM. The card can also be used for online transactions.

How many times can the card be re-loaded?

There is no restriction on the number of re-loadings on a card.

What does a Companion Card kit contain?

The ICICI Bank Companion Card kit contains the following:

What is the validity of the Companion card?

The validity of the card is 5 years from the data of issue i.e. “Valid From” as printed on the card.

How to buy an ICICI Bank Companion Card?

You may log in to your iMobile app using your user ID & password and apply for a Companion Card of your choice under CARDS AND FOREX section

What is the minimum and maximum amount that can be loaded on the Companion card?

The maximum available balance in your card should not exceed INR 1,00,000 at any time. There is no minimum balance that can be loaded.

How can I change the limit for my card?

To change the limit for your card, you may login to iMobile Pay using your user ID and password. Alternately, you may call our Customer Care and make a request. Our Customer Care Executive will take your request and it will be completed within 5 working days. The Customer Care number is 022 50405238.

What about the available balance on the card after the card has expired?

You can place a request at our Customer Care for the replacement card. The new card will be issued and the available balance will be transferred to the new card within 11 working days. Replacement charges of Rs. 199 plus service tax will be levied on the new card. As soon as you get your replacement card, generate your PIN through the iMobile Pay App.

Alternately, you can also place a refund request at our Customer Care for the available balance on the card and share your bank account details with us in which the amount has to be credited. The available balance on the card will be credited in your account within 7 working days. All refund requests have to be placed within 3 months from the card expiry date i.e. “Valid Thru” as printed on the card.

How is the ICICI Bank Companion Card secured against unauthorised payments at merchant outlets?

ICICI Bank Companion Card comes with enhanced security of EMV Chip & PIN technology. Additionally, you are required to sign on the charge slip (produced by the Electronic Data Capture machine at the time of purchase) to complete a transaction at the merchant outlet. The merchant has to match this signature with the signature on the signature panel on the reverse of the card. Transactions at merchant outlets are thus protected by your signature. You must ensure that you sign on the signature panel as soon as you receive the card.

How do I withdraw cash from an ATM using the ICICI Bank Companion Card?

To withdraw cash from an ATM, first look for the "VISA" or "Plus" logo on the ATM. At an ATM where the logo is present:

  • Insert the card in the card slot as advised on the ATM panel. The ATM will ask you for your PIN
  • Enter the ATM-PIN of you card. Once your ATM-PIN is validated, the machine will prompt you to enter the amount of cash you wish to withdraw
  • Enter the amount of cash you need. If your ICICI Bank Companion Card has sufficient funds, the machine will dispense the requested cash.
Can an ATM be used to check the amount of funds remaining on the Companion Card?

Most ATMs have the facility to check the balance on the card. However, you may also check the same in your iMobile app.

What if I forget the ATM-PIN of my ICICI Bank Companion Card?

If you forget your ATM-PIN, you can reset the PIN by logging in to iMobile Pay app. Alternately, you may call our Customer Care and ask to reset your PIN.

What should I do if I lose my Companion Card?

Your ICICI Bank Companion Card comes with zero lost-card liability after its loss has been reported. Hence report loss of the card to our Customer Care as soon as you come to know of it. We will block the card and thus prevent any further usage. We will then provide you with a replacement card. Generate your PIN through iMobile Pay App as soon as you get your replacement card.
