Ever since the government has put a fresh deadline on the mandatory installation of FASTag for cashless toll payments, there has been a significant increase in the demand for the Tag. It is now easy to register for FASTag, using Whatsapp.

We all know how toll payment collection through FASTag has helped boost the concept of contactless payments. In fact, the Indian government has made it mandatory to install the Tag on the window screen, so that customers do not have to wait in long queues, for making online payments.

Any individual can register for a new FASTag, either online or offline. Moreover, it is now easy to get a FASTag online registration, through ICICI Bank’s Whatsapp Banking. Once you request for the new Tag, it will be delivered to your address, free of cost.

How to use a FASTag?

FASTag is a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), hence it can be prepaid, or it needs to be linked with your Savings or Current Account. from which the toll gets deducted. To start using the Tag, follow the steps below:

• Affix the FASTag on your vehicle’s front windscreen: Once you receive the FASTag, you need to remove the adhesive strip and stick it on the top left of the windshield, just behind the rearview mirror or inside the vehicle. Make sure you are sticking it at the right place, as you cannot remove the tag, since it may destroy the magnetic strip. Avoid using sellotape or any other adhesive to apply the FASTag

• Maintain a sufficient balance in the FASTag account: The appropriate toll amount gets automatically deducted from your prepaid account. Therefore, it is necessary to make a FASTag recharge on time, to enjoy hassle-free trips and avoid traffic at toll plazas.

If you have still not affixed a FASTag on your vehicle, you can do the same, without any struggle, using Whatsapp. You can also carry out other tasks, such as:

• Recharge your FASTag

• Update your Vehicle Registration Number

• Get to know the history of a minimum of five transactions

• Avail recharge wallet services. This service will be soon launched by ICICI Bank, and will allow you to recharge your FASTag wallet using ICICI Bank’s Whatsapp Banking feature.

To get started with the FASTag mobile application, you simply need to send “Hi” using WhatsApp, to 86400 86400, from your registered mobile number.

ICICI Bank allows you to make a new FASTag registration through Internet Banking, as well as the iMobile Pay app. If you apply for ICICI Bank FASTag, you can be eligible for a special offer, such as, an Amazon gift voucher. The offer is valid only if the Tag is issued through ICICI Bank’s official website, iMobile Pay, Pockets, Instabiz app, or Internet Banking.
