Get started with UPI

UPI enables bank account holders (of banks participating in UPI) to send and receive money using a Virtual Payment Address (VPA) without entering additional bank information.

To start using UPI as a payment option, all you need is a VPA.

A VPA is an ID, which a user creates by linking their accounts to a bank’s mobile application.

How to create your VPA using Pockets?

  • Click on UPI on your ICICI Bank Pockets’ home screen.
  • Go to 'Manage' and select 'Add my Bank Accounts'.
  • Enter your desired prefix, for e.g. Krishna@icici and check for the availability.
  • Click on 'Continue' and select your bank.
  • If you intend to link multiple bank accounts with the same VPA, you can set a default account.
  • Generate MPIN. This MPIN will be used to transact through this account.
