I. Definitions:

  • User means the customer of ICICI Bank Limited (“ICICI Bank”) who holds a savings account with ICICI Bank.
  • Digital Gold means 24 karat (physical) gold kept in a vault that the User can purchase from SafeGold. The User can purchase the gold in fractional quantity from SafeGold.
  • Gold Wallet means the virtual wallet maintained by SafeGold where the Digital Gold balance shall be displayed for the User. The Gold Wallet can be accessed by the User on ICICI Bank’s iMobile application and internet banking.
  • Delivery: SafeGold shall deliver the Digital Gold to the User when the User has bought a minimum 1(one) gram of Digital Gold.

II. Offer:

Customers can use their SafeGold balance to purchase jewellery at CaratLane online and offline outlets. They will receive Rs. 1,000 flat discount on every piece of CaratLane jewellery they purchase using SafeGold balance bought using ICICI Bank Internet Banking.

  • Customers can use their SafeGold balance to purchase jewellery at CaratLane online and offline outlets.
  • CaratLane will provide customers with the full value of their gold on a gram for gram basis.
  • Customers will receive Rs. 1,000 flat discount on every piece of CaratLane jewellery they purchase using SafeGold.

How it works:

Offline Stores

  • Visit your nearest CaratLane store to buy the jewellery of your choice.
  • Share your Registered Mobile Number with the Cashier at the store, as well as the number of grams you'd like to utilise of your SafeGold balance.
  • CaratLane will enter the grams to be transferred for the chosen jewellery and send the redemption code to your registered mobile number.
  • Share the redemption code with jeweller to verify and approve of the transaction.
  • Pay the remaining charges, if any, and walk out of the store with your jewellery.

Online:

  • Visit the CaratLane website and select any jewellery of your choice.
  • Connect with the Caratlane customer executive through the "Live Chat option" or call customer support @ 1800 102 0103 to exchange your Safegold Balance.
  • Share your Registered Mobile Number with the Customer support executive.
  • Caratlane will enter the grams to be transferred for the chosen jewellery and send a redemption code to your registered mobile number.
  • Share the redemption code with the executive to verify and approve of the transaction.
  • To pay the remaining charges, if any, click on the "Offline Payment Mode" option. Choose from the given options and click on "Place Order" to confirm the order.
  • Complete the payment through the payment link shared by Caratlane.

III. Alliance Partner prescribed Terms and Conditions:

  • The transaction shall only be initiated upon the express instruction of the customer to CaratLane through its online, call centre or retail executive.
  • This offer is conditional upon your having an adequate SafeGold balance at the time of making the purchase through CaratLane.
  • There is a minimum of 0.5gms required for the exchange of SafeGold balance for CaratLane products to avail of the discount.
  • Your SafeGold balance can be utilised towards the gold weight in the jewellery item selected by you, but cannot be utilised towards making charges or other costs such as synthetic or precious stones, etc.
  • Additional charges must be borne by you.
  • Cash on Delivery is not applicable.
  • SafeGold is not responsible for the quality of jewellery provided to you by CaratLane.
  • By communicating the redemption code to CaratLane, you agree to allow SafeGold to debit your SafeGold balance to the extent required for the purchase of your chosen item of jewellery.
  • The corresponding calculations for conversion from your 24 karat SafeGold balance to 22, 18 or other karat equivalent jewellery at CaratLane are as follows:

  • CaratLane Refund and Exchange Policy:
  • Products purchased through SafeGold are not eligible for a 30-Day Money Back or BuyBack policies from CaratLane. Only Lifetime Exchange applies.
  • In case the exchange value is higher than the value of the old product, you will have to pay the difference.
  • The prevailing market value will be determined by CaratLane. This feature is not available for international orders (orders that will be shipped abroad from India).
  • You are requested to place a call / visit any nearby store for placing return / exchange / refund request.
  • All other returns shall be as per the normal process.
  • In case you wish to purchase multiple products using your SafeGold balance, each product must be ordered using a separate transaction.
  • Gold Weight Difference for all SafeGold payment orders shall be processed & considered as Offline Mode, wherein CaratLane shall refund the difference in NEFT to customer bank account details.
  • Any decision on refund or exchange of purchased jewellery, if any, shall be at the discretion of CaratLane. On refund, the customers SafeGold balance will be restored in gms of 24KT (995) gold.
  • Any conditions which are not explicitly covered with respect to the SafeGold balance or jewellery purchase are at the sole discretion of SafeGold (Digital Gold India Pvt. Ltd.), and CaratLane respectively.
  • CaratLane reserves the right to change the terms and conditions for specific customers. In such a situation, the customer will always be informed of the decision prior to the purchase.

IV. ICICI Bank prescribed Terms and Conditions:

  • The facility to purchase Digital Gold is provided in accordance with the arrangement between ICICI Bank and Digital Gold India Private Limited (“SafeGold”) and conditions pertaining to such arrangement shall be specified by ICICI Bank from time to time.
  • The User accepts that it shall be responsible for entering correct details when initiating a transaction for purchase of Digital Gold. In no case shall ICICI Bank be held liable for any erroneous transactions incurred, arising out of or relating to the User entering wrong details during transaction.
  • ICICI Bank shall be responsible for only communicating the transaction requests of the User to SafeGold and facilitating the payment for the purchase of Digital Gold. All subsequent activities, including but not limited to, credit/refund of Digital Gold in the User’s Gold Wallet, Delivery of Digital Gold , sending acknowledgement, resolution of complaints regarding quality or quantity of Digital Gold etc., will be carried out by SafeGold. ICICI Bank shall not be responsible for any of the above mentioned activities of SafeGold and does not make any representation, warranty or undertaking in respect of such activities or the service levels of SafeGold in relation to such requests.
  • Terms and conditions of ICICI Bank and SafeGold apply for purchase of Digital Gold. ICICI Bank is not responsible for SafeGold’s products, goods, services and offers.
  • Usage of any SafeGold’s product / service shall constitute a contract between the User and SafeGold.
  • The User acknowledges that there may be delays or deficiencies in service levels by SafeGold, for which ICICI Bank cannot accept any liability. 
  • Nothing contained herein shall constitute or be deemed to constitute an advice, invitation, offer or solicitation to sell/purchase any products/services of ICICI Bank..
  • ICICI Bank expressly disclaims any liability to any person, in respect of anything done or omitted to be done by any such person by placing reliance upon the contents showcased for Digital Gold on internet banking platform and iMobile application.

  • I hereby authorize ICICI Bank to share my PAN card details with ‘SafeGold’ if need arises for any regulatory reporting requirements as per the prevailing KYC norms for Digital Gold.
  • ICICI Bank shall not be responsible for delay/non Receipt of the Digital Gold balance or Delivery of the Digital Gold.
  • Currently Digital Gold module is available for General Banking, Privileged Banking and Wealth Management customers through ICICI Bank Retail Internet Banking only.
  • ICICI Bank shall not be responsible for any incorrect information with respect to the Digital Gold available on digital channels of ICICI Bank.
