Is there any minimum and maximum cash withdrawal limit per day?

Yes, banks set limit for cash withdrawal by customers. The cash withdrawal limit for use at the ATM of the issuing bank is set by the bank during the issuance of the card.

For cash withdrawals at other bank ATMs, banks have decided to maintain a limit of Rs 10,000/- per transaction. This information is displayed at the ATM location.

What are the transaction charges applicable on a Non-ICICI Bank ATM transaction?

Transaction charges applicable at Non-ICICI bank ATMs are:

1. First 3 transactions (inclusive of financial and non financial) in 6 metro locations (Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad) in a month - Free
2. First 5 transactions (inclusive of financial and non financial) in all other locations in a month - Free
3. Maximum of 5 transactions are free in a month with a cap of 3 free transactions in 6 metro locations

What is the difference between an ATM Card and a debit card?

An ATM card is used primarily for cash withdrawal at ATMs. However, a debit card can not only be used for cash withdrawals at ATMs, but also for purchases online or at retail outlets by directly debiting your Bank account.

I want to generate the PIN for my debit card

To generate Pin number for your ICICI Bank Debit card please follow the below steps.

Pin generation through ATM:

Step 1: Insert your ATM / Debit Card

Step 2: On the Language screen, Select “Generate PIN / Forgot PIN” option

Step 3: Select “Generate OTP” option.

Step 4: Enter the registered mobile number.

Step 5: Enter Date of Birth as registered with Bank in DDMMYYYY format

OTP will be delivered on your registered mobile number through SMS

Generation of ATM PIN after OTP is received:

Step 1: Insert your ATM / Debit Card.

Step 2: On the Language screen, Select “Generate PIN / Forgot PIN” option.

Step 3: Select “Already have OTP, Generate ATM PIN” option.

Step 4: Enter OTP received on the registered mobile number.

Step 5: Enter your new ATM PIN.

Step 6: Re-enter your new ATM PIN.

PIN will be successfully generated.

Pin generation through Internet Banking:

Step 1: Please login to your Internet Banking Account  using User ID and Password > Click on MY CARD PIN > Debit Card Pin > Generate now> Enter the required details and Submit.

Step 2: OTP will be sent on registered mobile number.

Step 3: Enter debit card grid values, OTP received and click on submit

Step 4: Enter 4 digit card PIN, re-confirm debit card pin and click on 'generate now'

No, option is only for prepaid mobile.

Whom do I contact for any cash discrepancy in ATM?

ICICI ATM discrepancy cases:

If the cash is not received or less cash received from ICICI Bank ATM, we request you to wait for 2 hours and amount would be reversed to your account automatically. We request you to check after 2 hours and disputed amount is not refunded to your account, call our Customer Care from your registered mobile number.

For non ICICI bank ATM discrepancy cases:

How do I update my mobile number from the ATM?

Procedure to update Indian Mobile Number in Savings account:

You can update the Mobile number though any of the following Channels:

ICICI Bank ATM:

Visit the nearest ICICI Bank ATM > Select ‘More options’ > Register your Mobile > Enter the mobile number. Your mobile number will be updated in 1 working day.

ICICI Bank Branch:

Will premature withdrawal be allowed for FDs being created from request from ATM?

Yes, premature withdrawal shall be allowed as per existing terms and conditions, subject to premature penalty as applicable.

Are joint accounts eligible for placing a request for FDs through the ATM channel?

Customers with joint savings account with mode of operation a Either or Survivor can request for FD creation through ATM channel.

Can I make a prepayment/foreclosure through ATM?

No. This feature is not available on ATM. Pls visit nearest ICICI bank branch or contact customer care.

Which customers are eligible for requesting for a FD through an ICICI Bank ATM ?

The facility is available to all resident Indian individuals only, who are customers of any of the ICICI Bank Resident Savings or Salary Account having a debit card and PIN.

Current accounts linked to a debit card shall not be applicable for the facility.

Will instant credit happen in my Loan account on making payments through the ATM?

No, after successful transaction Loan payments would reflect in your statement in a maximum of 3 working days.

Within how many days of giving FD creation request from an ATM , will the FD be made?

FD creation request will be processed instantly through ATM.

In case the compensation is not credited as mandated, what recourse does the customer have?

For all such complaints customer may lodge a complaint with the local Banking Ombudsman if the bank does not respond.

Are customers eligible for compensation for delay beyond 5 working days ?

Yes, as per RBI guidelines, ICICI Bank will credit the incorrectly debited amount within a period of 5 days from the date of transaction. However, in cases wherein the Bank fails to re-credit the customer’s account within 5 days from the date of the said ATM transaction, a compensation at Rs 100 per day will be paid by the Bank to the customer, from the date of transaction.

How many days maximum would the bank require to re-credit the account for such wrong debits?

As per the RBI instruction, the issuing bank may re-credit such wrongly debited amounts within a maximum period of 5 working days.

What should one do if he forgets PIN or the card is sucked in by the ATM?

The customer may contact the card issuing bank branch and apply for retrieval/issuance of a new card. This procedure is applicable even if the card is sucked in at another bank's ATM.

What is a Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

PIN is the numeric password for use at the ATM. The PIN is separately mailed/handed over to the customer by the bank while issuing the card. This PIN has to be reset to a new PIN by the customer. Most banks force the customers to change the PIN on the first use.

The PIN number should not be written the card, card holder etc as in such cases the card can be misused if card is lost/stolen.

Can these cards be used at any bank ATM in the country?

Yes. The cards issued by banks in India should be enabled for use at any bank ATM within India.

The ATM cards/debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards(that permit cashwhdrawal) can be used at ATMs for various transactions.
