How does the ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card offer features of a Credit Card as well as a Namma Metro Smart Card?


The ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card is a dual purpose card that can be used for travelling on the Namma Metro and for making Credit Card transactions at over 22 million establishments worldwide. This card contains a Namma Metro Smart Card Chip embedded along with the Credit Card Chip.

What is Auto Recharge?


Auto Recharge is a standing instruction on your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card for recharging the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip. In this facility the Auto Recharge amount is credited to the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip automatically whenever the balance on the chip drops below a certain limit. The Auto Recharge amount is ₹200 i.e., every time the balance on your Namma Metro Smart Card Chip drops below a certain limit, ₹200 will be debited to your Credit Card and instructions for credit of ₹200 on Namma Metro Smart Card Chip will be sent to BMRCL.

What is threshold limit?


Threshold limit is the balance amount (on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip) at which the Auto Recharge instruction will be automatically triggered. The threshold limit is ₹100 i.e., when the balance on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip drops below ₹100, instructions for credit of ₹200 on Namma Metro Smart Card Chip will be sent to BMRCL after automatic deduction from the Credit limit.

How and where will the Auto Recharge get triggered?


The Auto Recharge will automatically get triggered when you tap the card at the Entry gate of Namma Metro stations, if the balance on your Namma Metro Smart Card Chip is lower than the threshold limit. You will be able to view the updated balance on your Namma Metro Smart Card Chip when you tap the card next time at the Entry gate of Namma Metro stations.

Will I get an SMS whenever the Auto Recharge is triggered on my card?


You will not receive an SMS when Auto Recharge is triggered on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip in your Credit Card, but you will receive an SMS once your Credit Card account is subsequently debited with the Auto Recharge amount.

What will happen if the Auto Recharge has not been executed because of authorisation failure (due to any reason e.g. insufficient funds) on my ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card?


In case of authorisation failure on the ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card because of any reason, the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip shall not be recharged. BMRCL/ICICI Bank may exercise an option to cancel the Auto Recharge facility in case of repeated dishonors of Auto Recharge request.

What happens if the Auto Recharge facility remains unused for a long period of time?


The Auto Recharge facility on the card remains active unless the customer has placed a request for deactivation of the same with BMRCL customer care.

If I have the ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card and a Namma Metro Smart Card, can I use both the cards for a single journey?


Please make sure to use the same card in Entry and Exit during a single journey to avoid inconvenience. Use of different cards for the same journey might attract penalty as per BMRCL rules.

Whom should I contact if I want to deactivate the Auto Recharge facility?


For deactivation, please visit the customer care at Namma Metro stations, with your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card. Please note that once deactivated, the Auto Recharge facility cannot be reactivated on your card. If you wish to avail the Auto Recharge facility again, please make a request for a replacement card* by calling our Customer Care.

 

*Replacement charges as applicable will be levied.

What should I do if my ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card is stolen or lost?


Please contact the ICICI Bank Customer Care to report the loss of your Credit Card. ICICI Bank will immediately block the Credit Card to avoid misuse anywhere outside the Namma Metro and will replace the Credit Card with a new Credit Card. Please note that standard card reissuance charges may be levied in case of reissuance of lost/stolen cards. The balance on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip will however not be transferable to the new Smart Card Chip. ICICI Bank cannot be held liable for misuse of the same.

What should I do if my ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card gets damaged or is not readable at the Metro stations?


In case your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card is not readable at the Metro stations, please visit the customer care at the station for resolution of the issue. If the issue persists, please contact the ICICI Bank Customer Care. ICICI Bank will close your existing Credit Card and send you a new Credit Card. Once the replacement card is received, you will have to visit the customer care at Namma Metro stations and provide both the cards to the Customer Service Executive. The balance on the old card will be transferred to the new card. Alternatively, you may visit the customer care at Namma Metro stations and get the refund of balance lying on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip, in line with the BMRCL rules governing usage of ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card.

Can I obtain a refund of the value on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip?


You can obtain a refund of the value on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip. You need to visit the customer care at Namma Metro stations along with your card. The Auto Recharge facility will be deactivated by BMRCL before giving a refund of the stored value. Once the Auto Recharge facility is deactivated, it cannot be reactivated on the same card.

What will happen to the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip in case I wish to close my Credit Card?


In the unfortunate event of you wanting to close your ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro Credit Card, you may do so by calling the ICICI Bank Customer Care. All your outstanding amounts will become payable immediately and your Credit Card will be closed as per your request. The Namma Metro Smart Card Chip will remain usable for Namma Metro travel till such time that the balance on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip is exhausted. Alternatively, you may get the refund of balance on the Namma Metro Smart Card Chip by visiting the customer care at Namma Metro Stations.
