ICICI Bank charges 1% + GST on transactions towards rent payments. This fee is applicable on all ICICI Bank credit cards.

Can my Debit Card be used for transactions outside India?

As per RBI mandate, all debit cards issued before December 01, 2013 are blocked for international usage.

However, you can activate your debit card for international transactions at ATMs, retail outlets or international websites by calling our Customer Care from your registered mobile number.

No. There is no fee for using your debit card for retail or online transactions. However, under certain merchant categories like railways and fuel, a fee may be levied by the merchant on every purchase.

The DCARDFEE reflecting in your statement is the Debit Card Annual Fee.

What if my ICICI Bank Visa Debit Card expires / replaced?

Yes. There will be a fee of Rs. 200.00 plus 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST) which will be charged for replacement debit card.

What should I do if my Debit Card is not working?

What do I do in case an upgraded / new card has been assigned to me by ICICI Bank?

What is an ICICI Bank Debit Card?

An ICICI Bank Debit Card makes your payments much more convenient and secure through an electronic payment facility directly from your Savings or Current Account with ICICI Bank.

Will I be asked for my ATM PIN at every POS terminal, be it domestic or International?

For all transactions in India you will be asked for a PIN. However, outside India, only if the POS terminal is enabled for PIN authentication, you will be asked for PIN. You will need to enter your debit card ATM PIN and complete the transaction.

What are the charges for ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card?

The ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card can be availed for at a joining fee of Rs. 499/- (Plus  Goods and Service Tax ) only. Annual charges of Rs.499/-(Plus Goods and Service Tax ) from second year onwards will be applicable.

What is 3D Secure PIN?

What are the charges applicable for a Sapphiro Debit Card?

Charges applicable for a Sapphiro Debit Card are as follows:

Joining fee: Rs.1999 + Goods and Service Tax
Annual fee:Rs.1499 + Goods and Service Tax

  • Annual fee will be charged from the 2nd year onwards
  • Joining fee will be only charged for the 1st year
  • Re-issuance of a Sapphiro Debit Card for any reason will attract re-issuance charges of Rs. 200 + Goods and Service Tax

Can I change my PIN if I forget it?

Yes, you can change your PIN anytime you wish to. You can change it through any of our ICICI Bank ATMs or also through the IVR and Internet Banking.

The validity of my previous debit card was 10 years. Why is the validity of this card only 7 years?

As per international guidelines, the validity of the chip on the debit card is only 7 years. Due to which the debit card validity is 7 years.

How can I find out when my debit card was issued to me?

Every ICICI Bank Debit Card has a Valid From date mentioned on the front of the card in MM/YY format. This date is the card issue date.

How can I apply for an ICICI Bank Debit Card?

An ICICI Bank Debit Card comes as a part of the ICICI Bank Account Kit which is given to you at the time of account opening. In case, you were not given an ICICI Bank Debit Card with your new account kit, you can call ICICI Bank customer care and request for a new debit card.

How do I activate the debit card for usage online or at retail outlets?

To activate, use your card for PIN based transaction at any of the following:

You may be aware of the increasing global apprehensions regarding Bitcoins, cryptocurrencies and virtual currencies. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cautioned the public regarding the potential economic, operational, legal and security related risks associated in dealing with such currencies. The RBI vide its Statement on Developmental & Regulatory Policies dated April 5, 2018 has announced that entities regulated by RBI shall not deal with or provide services to any individual or business entities dealing with or settling virtual currencies.

To ensure the security of our customers, the Bank will not allow usage of ICICI Bank Credit, Debit & Prepaid Cards and cross border remittances towards purchase or trading of such Bitcoins, cryptocurrencies and virtual currencies, at merchants suspected to be dealing in cryptocurrencies or online foreign exchange trading, or both.

Will I be given a Debit Card with the same image as my current Expressions Debit Card after the expiry of the card?

No. You will be given a regular non Picture Debit Card on the expiry of the current Expressions Debit Card. If you need an ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card on expiry of your current card, you can raise a new request at www.icicibank.com or at any ICICI Bank Branch.

How long does it take to receive the funds?

It normally takes a few minutes from the moment the sender submits the transaction after paying the amount and fees.

Funds are made available in no later than 30 minutes on the outer limit.

What is a rent payment transaction with Credit card?

Many property/real-estate management and payment portals/apps today offer customers (tenants/lessee) the facility of paying/transferring rent to the property owners /lessors' Bank Account/UPI ID from the customer's (tenants) Credit Card.

Such transactions are termed as rental payment transactions

How to unlock grid values?

The transaction facility gets disabled due to the following scenarios:

  • If you enter wrong grid values more than 3 times, and the same will be enabled after 12 midnight.
  • If you have requested for card replacement and using blocked Debit Card for transactions.
  • If you have recently received chip based card and still using old Debit Card grid.

What is a CVV number?

The Card Verification Value (CVV) for Visa, MasterCard is the final three digits of the number printed on the signature strip on the back of your card. CVV for American Express appears as a separate 4-digit code printed on the front of your card, above the American Express logo. It is usually required for Online payment transactions.

Are any charges payable by the Beneficiary?

No. Service fee, if any, is paid by the Sender. Also, as the transaction is immediate the sender gets to know the rate at which the transaction is settled. So the service is very transparent for both Sender and Beneficiary.

How to use a debit card for retail transactions?

Step1: The merchant swipes or dips your card at a Point of Sale (POS) terminal

Step2: The merchant enters the transaction amount on the POS terminal

Step3: The POS machine will prompt for the Credit or Debit Card PIN to be entered by you. Please do not disclose your PIN to the merchant.

Step4: Once you enter the correct PIN and sign the chargeslip, the transaction is confirmed and completed

Step5: Ensure that the card is returned to you

Can I obtain a refund of the value on the Delhi Metro Transit Chip?

DMRC rules governing the use of this Card do not permit refund of any balance on the Delhi Metro Transit Chip.

Are there any limits or restrictions on transactions?

This service is regulated by the RBI and the following rules apply

  • Remittance can only be received for purpose of personal maintenance. Business and investment transactions cannot be routed using this service
  • A single transaction cannot exceed the Indian Rupee equivalent of USD 2,500
  • Not more than 30 transactions can be received in a calendar year. As an added measure of safety, ICICI Bank will restrict the service to 2 transactions per month per Beneficiary

ICICI Bank additionally maintains its own risk and security profiling systems and reserves the right to decline suspicious transactions.

Fuel surcharge would not be applicable for the transactions done on ICICI Bank swipe machines at selected government fuel petrol outlets (HPCL/ IOCL/ BPCL).

What is the procedure to follow if my Debit Card PIN is blocked?

For security reasons, your debit card will be blocked if there are 3 consecutive wrong PIN attempts on the account. However, the card will be activated automatically after 12:00 a.m. and you can access it there on.

What are the Debit Card transaction fees if I swipe my card at Fuel pumps or booking railwaytickets?

The following are the transaction charges applicable when you use the Debit Card at:

  • Petrol pumps:

    Fuel surcharge would not be applicable for the transactions done on ICICI Bank swipe machines at selected government fuel petrol outlets (HPCL/ IOCL/ BPCL).

My Debit Card Valid from date is before December, 2013 (12/13). Is my Debit Card active for transactions outside India?

Yes. All debit cards issued before December 01, 2013 are active for transactions at ATMs, online websites or retail outlets throughout the world. However, daily usage limits for transactions in India are transactions abroad.

What is the procedure to replace a damaged Debit Card?

How and where will the auto recharge get triggered for Namma / Bangalore Metro Card?

The auto recharge will automatically get triggered when you tap the card at the entry gate at Bangalore Metro stations, if the balance on your Namma Metro Transit Chip is lower than the threshold limit. You will be able to view the updated balance on your Namma Metro Transit Chip at the station gate when you exit at your destination station.

What will happen if the Auto Top-Up has not been executed because of authorization failure (due to any reason e.g. insufficient funds) on my ICICI Bank Unifare Debit Card?

In case of authorization failure on the ICICI Bank Unifare Debit Card because of any reason, the Auto Top-Up facility on the Delhi Metro Transit chip in the Card will be suspended. To continue using this facility, please visit the customer service window at Delhi Metro stations where Auto Top-Up can be enabled* and pay an amount of Rs.200 in cash, towards the previous Auto Top-Up transaction.

Whom should I contact if I want to deactivate the Auto Top-Up facility for unifare Card?

For deactivation, please visit the customer service window at any of the designated Delhi Metro stations*, with your ICICI Bank Unifare Debit Card. Please note that once deactivated, the Auto Top-Up facility cannot be reactivated on your card. What will happen to the Delhi Metro Transit Chip in case I wish to close my Debit Card, and get a regular Debit Card?

To close the Debit Card and to get a regular Debit Card, you will have to call our Customer Care. You will also need to deactivate the Auto Top-Up facility on your Delhi Metro Transit Chip by visiting the customer service window at any of the designated Delhi Metro stations* with your ICICI Bank Unifare Debit Card. Post deactivation of the Auto Top-Up facility, the Delhi Metro Transit Chip will remain usable for Delhi Metro travel till such time that the balance on the Delhi Metro Transit Chip is exhausted.

If the Auto Top-Up facility is not deactivated within 24 hours of placing the closure request for the Debit Card, the Delhi Metro Chip will be automatically blocked and will not be usable at Delhi Metro. Simultaneously, a new request for a regular debit card will be taken and sent to your address. Standard re-issuance charges of the new debit card will be applicable.

What is Auto Recharge for Unifare DMRC Coral Debit Cards?

Auto top-up is a standing instruction on your credit card for loading of the DMRC smart card. In this facility the auto top-up amount is credited to the DMRC smart card automatically when the balance on the DMRC smart card drops below the threshold limit.

Threshold limit is the balance amount lying on DMRC smart card at which the auto top-up instruction will be executed. The threshold limit is INR 100 i.e. when the balance on the DMRC smart card drops below INR 100, auto top-up amount of INR 200 will be credited in your DMRC smart card.

What is threshold limit in Unifare DMRC Coral Debit Cards?

Threshold limit is the balance amount (on the Delhi Metro Transit chip) at which the auto recharge instruction will be executed automatically. The threshold limit is ₹50 i.e. when the balance on the Delhi Metro Transit chip drops below ₹50, an auto recharge amount of ₹200 will be credited to the Delhi Metro Transit chip after the automatic deduction from the Bank Account.

If the issue persists, please contact ICICI Bank Customer Care. ICICI Bank will close your existing Debit Card and send you a new Debit Card. You will also need to deactivate the Auto Recharge facility on your existing Delhi Metro Transit Chip by visiting the Customer Service window at any of the designated Delhi Metro stations. The balance on the Delhi Metro Transit Chip will however not be transferable to the new Debit Card.

Will I need a phone with Internet / GPRS connection on it?

No, there is no such requirement

Do I need to be using a specific Mobile handset to avail this service?

There is no specific handset requirement for using the Movida service. You do not require any GPRS / internet / data connectivity on your phone. You need not download any application to get started.

How can I know whether my mobile number is registered with ICICI Bank?

If you are currently receiving transaction alerts related to your ICICI Bank account / Card on the mobile phone it means that your mobile number is already registered with ICICI Bank.

The service fee is solely determined by the accredited Sending Bank or Financial Institution. In most markets the service is extremely competitive on fee as well as exchange rates.

Only the ICICI Bank Visa Debit Card number is required to transact. The Beneficiary must never share other confidential information on the card like expiry date, CVV value or passwords with the Sender or any other persons for this transaction.

All data is stored securely as per best-in-class data security standards (PCI-DSS). The information is stored and transmitted securely through ICICI Bank and Visa networks.

While ICICI Bank, Visa and other partners take steps to ensure the safety of your data, Beneficiary is also advised to take adequate care in managing and handling their own information.

What if my ICICI Bank Visa Debit card is stolen?

You will not get the non chip variant of the coral debit card

I have lost my ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card. Can I get a new debit card with the same image I had used last time?.

Yes. You can get a replacement ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card with the same image as your last Expressions Debit Card in case of loss or damage.

Can I upload my picture and apply for an ICICI Bank Expressions Debit Card at an ICICI Bank Branch?

As of now, you can choose an image only from the design gallery available with ICICI Bank branches and on ICICI Bank website.

You can choose any image from a gallery of more than 175 images available at our Expressions gallery.

How will I come to know if my image was approved or rejected?

All images uploaded are scrutinized to check for violation of image checking guidelines. If image is as per the guidelines, the card is produced and dispatched to you. If the image is rejected, an alert will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Will I get an SMS whenever the Auto Recharge is triggered on my Unifare DMRC Coral Debit Cards?

You will not receive an SMS when the Auto Recharge is triggered on the Delhi Metro Transit chip in your Debit Card, but you will receive an SMS once your Bank Account is subsequently debited with the Auto Recharge amount.

Please make sure to use the same card at the entry and exit during a single journey to avoid inconvenience. Use of different cards for the same journey might attract penalty as per Delhi Metro rules.

What will happen to the Delhi Metro Transit Chip in case I wish to close my Debit Card and get a regular Debit Card?

To close the Delhi Metro Debit Card and to get a regular Debit Card, you will have to call our Customer Care. You will also need to deactivate the Auto Recharge facility on your Delhi Metro Transit Chip by visiting the Customer Service window at any of the designated Delhi Metro stations.
