Retail Internet Banking: Best Consumer Internet Bank in India - Country Winner (7th year in a row)


ICICI Bank was adjudged "The Best Consumer Internet Bank in India for the year 2008" by Global Finance, the world’s premier business magazine, on August 6, 2008 in New York, USA.

This is the seventh consecutive year that the Bank has received this honour.

The awards had close to 52 nominations across 5 categories in banking.

The winning banks were selected based on the following criteria:
  • the strength of strategy for attracting and servicing online customers
  • success in getting clients to use web offerings
  • the growth of online customers
  • the breadth of product offerings
  • the evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives and
  • web site design and functionality.
