'Read to Lead' is a nationwide initiative. We have identified children from 14 states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are benefiting from this programme.
How much importance is given to the girl child by ‘Read to Lead’?
Girl-child education is of paramount importance to us. We have asked our partners that 50% of the children reached through this programme should be girls.
How are ICICI Bank, ICICI Foundation and CSO Partners linked?
The ICICI Group has established The ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth in order to meet its commitment to improving the social, economic and human development outcomes at the national level. The Foundation’s mission is to increase the incomes of low-income households in India in a sustainable manner. CSO Partners is one of the partners that is helping the foundation in its mission. The 'Read to Lead' initiative is being co-ordinated by CSO Partners.
What is the monitoring process?
The following steps are envisaged to ensure that the monitoring process is very robust.
- The funds for this programme will be disbursed to our partners through an operating account that they will maintain with the Bank. All transactions of this account will be restricted to activities related to this programme only.
- Comprehensive reporting formats will be circulated among our partners, which they will update on a regular basis. Disbursement of funds will be linked to data submission and progress towards the stated goals.
- Quarterly reports on 'Read to Lead' will be available publicly on this website.
- Our employees have expressed a keen interest in contributing towards this goal. Apart from helping our partners, they will also make field visits at different stages of the programme to ensure smooth and sound implementation of the programme.
- Periodic audits will be conducted by CSO Partners also to ensure effective and efficient mobilization and utilization of funds.
