Portfolio Investment Scheme (PINS) is a scheme offered by the Reserve Bank of India permitting NRIs and OCBs (Overseas Corporate Bodies) to purchase and sell shares and / or convertible debentures of Indian Companies.
Here is how you can invest: You can do so on repatriable or non-repatriable basis through a registered broker on a recognised Stock Exchange in India. All you need to do is route such purchase / sale transactions through your account in the ICICI Bank Branch. Please note: With effect from 29/11/2001 RBI has restricted OCBs from making fresh purchases. They can, however, continue their existing holdings or sell off the same.
