1.FAQs ABOUT THE APPLICATION

1.1What is ‘iMobile’?

iMobile is a secure mobile banking application using which various services of ICICI Bank like banking, credit card, loan, demat, bill payment and pre-paid mobile recharge can be accessed from your mobile phone anytime and anywhere. Using this facility, ICICI Bank customers can transfer monies, pay credit card or utility bills, top up pre-paid mobile phones and do much more just at the press of a mobile's button.

1.2How is it different from the existing services of ICICI Bank?

Currently ICICI Bank provides Mobile Banking pull services through the following channels:

  • Sending the respective keyword (like IBAL for balance enquiry) as an SMS to 5676766 or 9837142424 in the case of all mobile operators.
  • Using the ICICI Bank Mobile Banking menus or GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) menus on Airtel, BPL, Idea and Hutch.
  • Using the ICICI Bank Mobile Banking menu under the “Finance section” of Reliance Rworld.

1.3Why do I need iMobile?

iMobile offers secure and convenient menu-based Mobile Banking. iMobile application is compatible with both GPRS and SMS channels. Also, iMobile will work with any operator (only GSM operators) depending on the availability of access of the channel selected by operator.

2.FAQs BEFORE DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION

2.1 What are the prerequisites for using iMobile?

You need to have a Java-enabled handset. Please check compatibility of your model by clicking here. Your mobile phone number needs to be registered for ICICI Bank Mobile Banking Pull facility. .
You can do this by:

  • Logging onto ICICIBank.com and updating your mobile number under the “Mobile Banking” section.
  • Calling up our 24-hour Customer Care.

2.2 What are the ways of downloading iMobile?

There are two ways of downloading the iMobile application:

  • SMS IMOBILE to 5676766.
  • Download iMobile application from ICICIBank.com

The iMobile application is compatible with the mobile handsets listed at ICICIBank.com.

2.3 How do I download iMobile from ICICIBank.com?

  • Visit ICICIBank.com
  • Go to the Mobile Banking section:iMobile
  • Select “Click here ”
  • Select the phone manufacturer from the "Phone Manufacturer" list
  • Select the model from the "Model" list and click "Download".
  • The application will get downloaded on your PC/laptop, which you can save on your machine.
  • Transfer the application to your phone using an IR/Bluetooth/USB cable.
  • Once the application is transferred, follow the given steps:
  • The message ‘Application ICICI Mobile Banking: Untrusted, Continue?’… Choose ‘Yes’ and continue.
  • This will start downloading of ICICI Mobile Banking application.
  • The message “Save in : Applications/Games”…Choose "Applications", and click ‘OK’
  • This will install the application automatically and the ICICI Mobile Banking Application icon will appear in the "Applications" menu.
  • The steps given above are only for reference. They may vary depending on your handset.

2.4 How do I download iMobile by sending SMS IMOBILE to 5676766?

  • Send IMOBILE to 5676766 from your mobile phone.
  • You will receive a SMS with a link to download the ICICI Bank iMobile application.
  • Click this link. A WAP page will open with a “Download” link. Click “Download”. Consider this on a Sony Ericsson phone:
  • The message ‘Application ICICI Mobile Banking: Untrusted, Continue?’… Choose ‘Yes’ and continue.
  • This will start downloading of ICICI Mobile Banking application.
  • The message “Save in : Applications/Games”…Choose "Applications" and click ‘OK’
  • This will install the application automatically and the ICICI Mobile Banking application icon will appear in the "Applications" menu.

2.5 How do I know whether my mobile is Java enabled?

To check whether your phone is Java-enabled, please refer your phone book manual or the phone manufacturer's website. [If you can download games through your mobile phone, your mobile is Java-enabled.]

2.6 Where do I check my phone’s model number?

The model number is printed generally inside the phone where the battery is placed. It could also be found in the user manual provided along with the phone. Some mobiles provide an option to display the model number.

2.7 What is GPRS?

GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service. It is an enhancement to the GSM mobile communication system, which allows Internet browsing and connecting to data services on a mobile phone.

2.8 How do I get the GPRS service?

You can get it by calling your mobile operator and subscribing to a GPRS connection.

2.9 What are the charges for the GPRS service?

The charges depend upon mobile operator and the GPRS plan. For details, please contact your mobile operator.

2.10 How quickly can I get my GPRS service activated?

Your mobile operator will tell you this.

2.11 Mobile operators offer multiple GPRS plans. To which one should I subscribe to use iMobile?

iMobile will work on all the GPRS plans of various mobile operators except Airtel Live and Airtel NOC. This service is currently not available to CDMA mobile users.

2.12 Will iMobile work on CDMA mobile connections like TTSL, TTML, Reliance, MTNL Garuda, BSNL WLL?

Currently iMobile is available only to GSM users with supported phones.

2.13 I don’t use ICICIBank.com. Will I still be able to download iMobile and use it?

Yes. If you have subscribed to ICICI Bank Mobile Banking for pull-based services like Request for Balance Enquiry by sending IBAL to 5676766, etc. and you have a Java-enabled phone, you can use iMobile. You can subscribe to Mobile Banking by one of the following means:

  • Log on to www.icicibank.com with your user ID and log-in password and enter your mobile number in the "Mobile Banking" section.
  • Call up our 24-hour Customer Care and enter your mobile number after carrying out debit-card authentication.

2.14 What is the cost of this application?

ICICI Bank does not charge for this application. GPRS/SMS charges will be as levied by your telecom service provider.

2.15 What is a WAP Push message?

WAP Push is an SMS within the header of which is included a link to a WAP address. On receiving a WAP Push, the compatible mobile handset automatically gives the user the option to access and download the WAP content on his handset.

2.16 While downloading, I get a message saying "Untrusted Application". What should I do?

Please select ‘Yes’ for this option. This option is specific to the mobile device and will not affect the application or mobile phone.

3.FAQs – AFTER INSTALLATION

3.1 How do I activate the iMobile?

To activate iMobile on your mobile phone, please follow these steps:
1.Click the iMobile icon on your mobile phone.
2.Click “Activate”. Also, only in case of handsets where Java application can not receive SMS inside application, you need to enter activation code. Activation code will be sent as message to these handsets. This will be an automated process.
3.Select a channel for activation of GPRS/SMS. This option is available only in those phones that support GPRS and SMS. If you do not see this option, it means that your phone does not support SMS channel but can run on GPRS.
4.The application will make a channel check and display a table of the channels supported.
5.Set a PIN for the iMobile and re-enter the PIN. This PIN will be used for your future log-ins.
6.iMobile will connect to the ICICI Bank server and initiate the activation process.
7.iMobile will download the necessary information by synchronizing with the ICICI Bank servers. This includes information pertaining to your bank accounts, credit card accounts, demat accounts, loan accounts, billers and payees.
8.The iMobile main menu is now activated on the phone screen.

3.2 Can I change my iMobile PIN?

Yes. iMobile provides you the option of changing your PIN from the application.

3.3 How can I change my iMobile PIN?

The procedure for changing your iMobile PIN is:
1.Log in to iMobile.
2.Go to options and select ‘Change PIN’.
3.Enter the old PIN followed by the new PIN, re-enter the new PIN and select 'OK'.
4.A message is displayed when the PIN is changed successfully.
5.Select ‘Back’ to return to the main screen

3.4 What if I forget my iMobile PIN?

Your iMobile will get locked after three consecutive wrong tries. To unlock it, please refer to the next FAQ.

3.5 How do I unlock my application?

iMobile gets locked on three successive incorrect PIN entries. To unlock the application, please follow this procedure:
1.Call our 24-hour Customer Care and request unlocking the iMobile.
2.Provide the required information for verification of your identity.
3.After verification, ICICI Bank’s Customer Care executive will tell you the unlocking code and send it to your registered mobile number via SMS. Note down the unlocking code carefully.
4.Open iMobile on your phone.
5.Select ‘Unlock’ from the menu.
6.Enter the unlocking code, set a new PIN and re-enter the new PIN for iMobile.
7.iMobile connects to the server to unlock iMobile.
8.iMobile is unlocked successfully. Press ‘Ok’ to return to the main menu

3.6 What if I lose my mobile?

If you lose your mobile:
1.Call our 24-hour Customer Care.
2.Provide details for verification of your identity.
3.Request blocking the iMobile.
4.You can download the same application once again, on your new phone.

3.7 What if I change my mobile handset or change the SIM card of my mobile?

Please follow respective process as applicable to your handset/ SIM Card:
If you have changed your mobile handset and not your SIM Card, call our 24-hour Customer Care and request them to do “Change Device” for you.
If you have changed your mobile handset and your SIM card, register the new number for Mobile Banking and then call our 24-hour Customer Care to do “Change device” for you.

3.8 What do you mean by “Change Device”?

When Customer Care does “Change Device”, an SMS link or WAP Push is sent to your new mobile handset. This is carried out in case iMobile gets deleted from the mobile handset without carrying out de-activation of the iMobile application. You can download the iMobile application by clicking the link as explained in FAQ 2.2 .

3.9 I did Change Device and got a link to download iMobile, but I am not a GPRS user. How do I get the application?

You may also download the iMobile application by visiting ICICIBank.com. Please select 'SMS' as the channel while carrying out activation.

3.10 Can anyone else use my iMobile?

The 4-digit PIN required to log in to iMobile ensures that only an authorized ICICI Bank customer accesses iMobile. Also, after three consecutive wrong inputs of the PIN, the iMobile gets locked. For reasons of security, please do not share your PIN with anyone.

3.11 Why should I refresh my iMobile?

Refreshing will keep your iMobile updated with the latest information as available with ICICI Bank. To refresh iMobile, press Refresh in the Options/Menu on the main screen of iMobile. A message will be displayed, with a summary of the downloaded/updated items.

3.12 How do I synchronize my iMobile?

The procedure for synchronizing the iMobile is:
1.Select the ‘Refresh’ option in the main screen of your iMobile
2.A summary of the uploaded or downloaded items will be displayed on the phone screen.
3.Select ‘OK’ to return to the main screen.

3.13 What if my mobile goes off during a transaction because of low battery?

If your mobile goes off because of low battery, the selected service will remain pending and can be completed the next time you log in to iMobile.

3.14 What if I receive a call or SMS while fetching details?

If you receive a call or SMS while using iMobile, iMobile will work in the background and will not be affected. But if the duration of the call is long, iMobile will log out automatically after some time in order to ensure security.

3.15 Does iMobile have a similar appearance on all phones?

The functionality of the iMobile remains the same for all phones. Its appearance, however, might change from phone to phone depending on the visual interface of the phone.
