ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Limited

- India's largest venture capital company

History:
ICICI Venture (formerly TDICI Limited) was founded in 1988 as a joint venture with the Unit Trust of India. Subsequently, ICICI bought out UTI's stake in 1998 and ICICI Venture became a fully owned subsidiary of ICICI. ICICI Venture also has an affiliation with the Trust Company of the West (TCW), which provides it a platform for networking Indian companies with global markets and technology. Strong parentage and affiliates for ICICI Venture also translates into access to a broad spectrum of financial and analytical resources thus enabling a keen understanding of the Indian financial markets and entrepreneurial ethos.

Year in review (FY 2002- 03):
Financial year 2002-3 was a landmark year for ICICI Venture. ICICI Venture raised the largest Indian Private Equity Fund and also engineered effective exits and enhanced the value of its existing portfolio. ICICI Venture Funds launched four new domestic funds whereas six existing funds under management were either liquidated or were in the process of liquidation. The most significant achievement of ICICI Venture was the successful First Closing of the Rs. 750 billion India Advantage Fund launched this year.

Ms. Renuka Ramnath began her career with ICICI in 1986 in the Merchant Banking Division of ICICI. She then shifted to ICICI Securities to head the Corporate Finance and Equities Businesses, setting new benchmarks for ICICI Securities in terms of revenue potential.She returned to ICICI in 1997 to set up Structured Finance Business.

Ms. Renuka Ramnath

In 1999, Ms. Ramnath moved on to head the e-commerce initiatives of ICICI. She was appointed the Managing Director & CEO of ICICI Eco-Net Limited in September 2000. She took over as Managing Director & CEO of ICICI Venture after the merger of ICICI Eco-net with ICICI Ventures.

Ms. Ramnath is a Graduate in Engineering and MBA in Finance from University of Mumbai.
