Mutual Funds - Essential New Guidelines

Guidelines for Mutual Funds Investments


As per the recent changes in regulatory guidelines, effective from January 01, 2011, you are required to complete the CVL (CDSL Ventures Ltd.) 'Know Your Customer' ( KYC ) norms as prescribed by SEBI, to invest in Mutual Funds in India.

Some of you already may be compliant. To know if you are KYC compliant, please follow the steps listed below:


Step 1 - Click on the following link and enter your PAN No in the space provided.  CVL Status


Step 2 - On entering your PAN number, the module would display 2 options as listed below:


If the KYC module indicates 'verified', it means that you are KYC compliant. You only need to submit a print copy of the same to the AMC you wish to invest in. This is a one-time exercise with every AMC you invest with.
OR
If the KYC module indicates 'Invalid Data', it means that your KYC details are pending and the same has not been verified by CVL. You need to submit the following documents.
The list of documents to be submitted to be KYC compliant.
   
1.
Individual application with photograph. Click here to download the form
2.
Proof of Identity - Photocopies of any of the following:
a.
Photo PAN Card
b.
In case of Non Photo PAN card in addition to copy of PAN card any one of Driving License or Passport copy or Voter ID or Bank Photo Pass Book
3.
Proof of Address - Photocopies of any of the following:
a.
Latest Telephone Bill (landline / mobile bill (not more than 3 months prior to the date of application) or
b.
Latest Electricity bills (not more than 3 months prior to the date of application) or
c.
Passport Copy or Driving License or Ration Card or Voter ID Card or Rent Agreement or
d.
Latest Bank Passbook or Bank Account Statement (not more than 3 months prior to the date of application)
e.
Latest Demat Account Statement (not more than 3 months prior to the date of application)
